This was essentially the study for remodelling the central avenue in the Municipality of Keratea, the Athens-Sounion highway, including the roads at right angle to it, as well as three squares situated along its length and within the bounds of the area for remodelling: Iroon Square, Agios Demetrios Square and Giasemi Square. Main purpose of the architectural intervention is to improve the quality of life of the citizens, as well as the safety of traffic circulation. The axis of the main avenue as well as the lines of the pavements were drawn anew, to achieve the greatest possible width for the pedestrian as well as more parking spaces. Along the length of the remodelled area, lanes for blind persons as well as essential ramps for the disabled were designed. Green areas were laid out and planted, seating, waste bins and lighting were installed. The materials proposed were pebble cement for the pavement surfaces, with pale inert and grey concrete fillets in the joints. The seats are mixed construction of lightly reinforced concrete and wooden-plank seat, while the parterres for the trees are circular with metal grid.
