The General Lykeion of Drosia opened in the school year 1990-91, in the former Preschool Teacher Training College, in an old building in disrepair. For many years it was housed together with the Junior High School (Gymnasion) of the catchment area. In order to solve the problem of the shared premises of the two schools and to create a modern educational space for about 150 pupils, the Non-profit Civil Company AEGEAS undertook the entire project of renovating the Zanneion Foundation and transferring there the Drosia Lykeion. Ten modern classrooms, grounds of about 1 hectare, basketball and volleyball courts were created. The new school was inaugurated in 2018.
