The Non-profit Civil Company AEGEAS was informed of the need for this study by the Municipality of West Achaia. In the area of Kalogria, the existing small bridge over the river Larissos, giving access to the seashore, presented serious static problems and was in danger of collapsing. The Municipality was able to secure funding for the construction of a new composite bridge, through the public investments programme, but it did not have the capital to commission the preliminary study required for inclusion in this programme. The Non-profit Civil Company AEGEAS sponsored all the necessary studies (topographical, geotechnical and static) for constructing a new bridge of overall length 15.00 m, which considerably improved traffic circulation in the area.
